The Creative Process

Inspiration Strikes: My journey begins with a spark of inspiration. It could be a vibrant color palette, a unique stitch pattern, or a specific event or season. Sometimes, it's a request for a particular item, and other times I need something that I am unwilling to pay for because I can make it myself.

Pattern Development: More often than not, I take inspiration from other creators. There are lots of wonderful and talented fiber artists all around us. I am always finding inspiration from them and adding my own touch to the recipe. Other times, I have a vision in my head and I work out the concept until I create the item to my specifications.

Yarn Selection: Choosing the perfect yarn is a crucial step. I carefully consider the person I am creating the project for, fiber content, color, and weight to achieve the desired look and feel. I also have to consider the cost of the yarn. I try whenever I can to get yarn at a discount. Of course, if the price is really good...I will purchase extra yarn and stock it in my storage bin. With prices constantly rising, I do all I can to get what I can at a good price today so I don't pay more tomorrow.

Hooking Up: With yarn and hook in hand, I dive into the creative process. Hours are spent crocheting, shaping, and perfecting each piece. There are too many moments spent frogging, but that is always part of the process.

Finishing Touches: The final stages involve blocking, weaving in ends, and adding any necessary embellishments. This attention to detail ensures a polished and professional finish.

Sharing the Love: I believe in sharing my passion with the crochet community. Through tutorials, blog posts, and social media, I strive to inspire and educate others.
